COMING OUT

- Coming Out: For lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, coming out is a process of understanding, accepting, and valuing one's sexual orientation/identity. Coming out includes both exploring one's identity and sharing that identity with others.

- The Process of Coming Out: There are several theories about the elements of the 'coming out' process. Each has its own emphasis but all of them are developmental models which regard 'coming out' as a series of stages. These stages do not necessarily last the same length of time and there is no one age when the whole process begins and ends.

- Am I Gay?: Many boys and girls ask themselves that question during adolescence. It’s widely believed that one in ten will answer it with a definite "yes." But for some others, the question lingers long into adulthood. How do you know?
- Answers to Some Frequently Asked Questions: When do people know that they are gay? Is homosexuality a phase young people go through? Are you born gay? What causes people to be gay? Can you stop being gay?
